A house with just one bedroom and a private pool is hard to find and thus it was with delight that we came across this pretty stone clad cottage,which sits in the countryside off the rural lane that leads down to the lovely sandy cove of Cala en Turqueta. From the road its existence is imperceptible. A country track, flanked on either side by lush foliage, leads the way to tall wooden entrance gates, beyond which this attractive retreat sits within spacious grounds. Alongside the front of the house is a charming covered terrace of wooden decking where guests will no doubt spend much of their time. From here, the view encompasses a well kept lawn, to the side of which steps lead the way to the pool and its surrounding lawn, where a further covered seating area occupies an intimate corner. Beyond here lie the orderly rows of vegetables and fruit trees of the property's orchard, which the caring owner visits every other day. Inside the house, a delightful blend of traditional quarry tiled floors and wooden beamed ceilings makes for an equally appealing ambience, with the open plan living area leading conveniently onto the outside terrace. Should you wish to venture out, the golden sands of Cala en Turqueta are within easy reach; follow the road southwards from the house for just 1.2km to reach the car park, from where a footpath meanders its way gently downhill through shady woodland for about 1km to the beach. Alternatively, the charming town of Ciutadella with its picturesque harbour and whitewashed arcaded streets is just 8.5 km to the north.
