Restored, rather than modernised, and recreating its rustic origins with imaginative finishing touches, this little dolls house of a cottage is fine for a couple or cosy for a small family. The old, walled town of Alcudia, with its cobbled streets, restaurants and shops is just a short walk away.

Charmingly simple, inside and out, its delightful open terrace seems unchanged since the cottage was built – ivy climbing and curling around its posts and beams, morning glory tumbling over the top to provide cool shade. Within the house is a living/dining room with exposed stone walls and an open fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher. A double bedroom and twin bedroom share a separate bathroom. A washing machine is also available for guests’ use.

The private swimming pool measures 9 x 4m and has built-in steps. There is ample sunbathing space on the poolside terrace and clusters of mature trees catch the breeze in the grounds. A barbecue makes al fresco dining too irresistible.

Maid service for 1 hour, 3 days per week.
