This cottage stands on a hillside, in the grounds of the owners residence, and is finished in traditional Portuguese style. The place has full privacy and is completely independent from the main house, even having its own entrance area by the shade of an olive tree. Barcelos with its wonderful weekly market on Thursday, and Braga once the religious capital of Portugal, are 10km and 15km away respectively; Povoa de Varzim on the coast is just 15km. Famalicao is 8km away and has supermarkets, shops and restaurants of which ‘Iris’ and ‘Filhas do Tanoeiro’ are recommended.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. A door opens from a covered veranda directly into the living/dining room, which has sofas to seat 4 plus dining table and chairs and French windows opening onto the spacious veranda. Open plan to this room is the kitchen area, which has a cooker with 4 electric rings plus electric oven and refrigerator. Off the living area are two bedrooms one with a double bed, one with twin beds and a shower room/WC. The outdoor veranda is large enough to relax on; it has table and chairs for ‘al fresco’ dining and views overlooking the valley. The house has electric heaters and a wood burning stove in the living area.

Outside, the garden is surrounded by hortensias, chestnuts, oak trees and pines. In the centre is a lawn area with a 6m x 4m swimming pool for the exclusive use of our clients and a patio with barbecue.
