Three years of extensive search for their perfect Portuguese 'lar' (home) ended the moment the caring British owners discovered this wonderful property. And it is easy to see why! From its beautiful lawned grounds, poolside and terraces, O Nosso Lar affords quite the most stunning, far-reaching views over verdant, undulating terrain across to the glittering ocean. Breathtaking is the only word we can use to describe this incredible panorama. Built into the naturally sloping land below Fóia, at 902m the highest point on the Algarve, the house undoubtedly enjoys a privileged position with well-proportioned accommodation spreading easily over its three levels. The principal bedroom has large windows specifically designed to showcase the marvellous scenery. A separate shower room and dining area sit next to the kitchen, which has an adjacent utility room with convenient access out to the pool and barbecue area. A further two bedrooms, one with en suite shower room can be found on the first floor. Outside, there is no shortage of lovely locations in which to relax, perhaps enjoy a glass or two of chilled 'vinho verde', and watch the sun gently descend over the 'serra'. Flanked by eucalyptus and set in a hectare of land, the mature garden is planted with a variety of shrubs including oleanders, honeysuckle, palm, lemon and fig trees. A variety of restaurants all boasting superb views from their dining terraces dot the roadside, as it winds its way up to Fóia peak from where the commanding vista encompasses both the south coast, from Silves with its Moorish castle to the walled, port town of Lagos, as well as a swathe of Portugal's west coast. The bustling town of Portimão and several golden sand beaches are all within a 30 minute drive.
