This is a beautiful farmhouse situated high in the hills northeast of Lucca, above the village of Marlia. From the property, there are spectacular views over the surrounding countryside, with its olive groves, and also of the most famous historical villas of Lucca, and their magnificent parks, on the plain below. These include Villa Grabau and Villa Reale, where Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi, Napoleon’s sister and Princess of Lucca, resided. The stone built house has been tastefully restored to a very high standard, in total respect of Tuscan tradition, retaining the original beamed ceilings and using antique cotto floor tiles. The interiors have been furnished in a very attractive country-house style. The gardens include a 10m x 5m swimming pool.
