Set almost equidistant between Florence and Siena, Volpaia is renowned as one of Tuscany's great estates. At the heart of the estate, the picturesque medieval hamlet of Volpaia is perched high on a hilltop with sweeping views over the vineyards, olive groves and cypresses below. Today the estate is known for being one of the most progressive wineries in Chianti and for hosting exhibitions of paintings and sculpture in the deconsecrated church.

One of the estate farmhouses, set in private lawned gardens amongst the estate vineyards approximately 1500 m from the hamlet, now offers most comfortable accommodation in this glorious Tuscan setting. At ground floor level there is a sitting room with pretty comfortable sofas, prints and fireplace. There is also a dining room. Both of these rooms have French windows opening out to the lawned garden. At a slightly higher level there is a kitchen with French windows opening to a dining terrace with table and chairs for dining ‘al fresco’. At first floor level there is a twin bedroom with bathroom en suite and doors opening out to the gardens, a bedroom with a large single bed and a twin bedroom sharing a bathroom. At second floor level there is a twin bedroom suite with shower room and a simple single bedroom. All these bedrooms are furnished in a typical Tuscan country style with pretty painted wrought iron bed heads, country furniture with marble tops and pretty fabrics.

• At a slightly raised level: Kitchen opening out to a terrace with dining furniture.

First floor:

• Twin bedroom with bathroom en suite opening out to the garden.

• Twin bedroom with shower room en suite with access to simple single bedroom (most suitable for child).

Maid: 4 hours, 5 days per week, Extra maid service, cook service and cooking classes available on request by arrangement with the estate office, payable locally.
Swimming pool: 8 x 5 m, fenced.
