This ancient farmhouse completed restoration in 2003. Built in local stone and developed on different levels, it stands on a hilltop offering wonderful views over the Chianti hills and the underlying countryside. The property is entirely fenced in to provide privacy and is reached by about 1.3 kms of dirt track that is not always ideal for low vehicles. The structure is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves that are tended to by the owners who produce top quality Chianti Classico wines and extra virgin olive oil, which can be purchased from them. The owners are friendly and speak English and German. They have access to the ground floor utility rooms and to the grounds for cultivation and maintenance purposes.

The region is filled with tortuous dirt roads that lead to lesser-known Chianti jewels, such as small hamlets, monasteries, churches and other places of historic interest that only Tuscany can offer. The woods are ideal for walks and bird watching. The position of the farmhouse is ideal for a holiday of total peace and quiet.

Guests have private use of the ground floor courtyard and the covered portico, both furnished, and also of the 4 x 11m Swimming pool at the rear of the farmhouse. The pool is reached by a short path that runs from the courtyard around the side of the farmhouse and on down to the pool. The pool is situated in a panoramic position and borders with the vineyards. At ground floor is also a one-car garage that guests can use (please ask the owners for permission first). One of the rooms hosts the laundry room with washing machine. There is a barbecue for guest use, and central gas heating.

The first floor, where the living area develops, is reached by an external staircase that leads up to a small covered loggia. Up two steps from the loggia is the entrance into the spacious living room with open hearth fireplace. The floor is in the original cotto and the ceiling is high and boasts wood beams and cotto tiles. To the left of the living room and up two stone steps through a brick archway, is the door to a spacious double bedroom with wrought iron, canopy bed.

Next to the living room fireplace, a door opens directly into the large, liveable kitchen/dining room that is complete with gas range, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, and two panoramic windows. One of the windows overlooks the pool and the countryside beyond it. Part of the floor in the kitchen is in the original stone.

Down three steps from the kitchen is a hallway. It leads to a spacious double bedroom, (an additional bed can be added in case guests prefer to sleep in separate beds but this must be notified at time of booking). There is a baby cot in this bedroom, which has high ceiling with wood beams and cotto ceiling tiles. Another door in the hallway opens into the spacious bathroom that has washbasin, WC and shower stall. Furnished with a mixture of modern and rustic Tuscan pieces, the house is quite comfortable. There is satellite TV with DVD.
