Like La Fogliarella 900 metres away, these two trulli are set in the midst of a wonderfully shady Apulian olive grove and one of which is exclusive to us. They are independent of each other, being far enough apart to afford privacy, and they share the swimming pool. They have both been renovated from top to bottom (2006) with completely new fixtures, fittings and furniture. However, the owners have ensured that the traditional cool interiors of bare stone walls and conical ceilings have been beautifully retained.
At nearby Ostuni, there are some fine Baroque buildings including the 15th century cathedral in the old town. This market town spreads over several hillsides and, in amongst its white alleyways and Aragonese ramparts, there are essential shops, banks and chemists. To a lesser degree, these are also to be found at Cisternino 4 kilometres away.
