Limani, along with sister property Horio, sits in a quite marvellous location on the edge of Plakias, a sleepy harbour village, home to shops, supermarkets, bars and several excellent tavernas all of which are within a few minutes' walk of the house. Both inside and out, the owners' excellent attention to detail is evident, as is their flair for blending quality and comfort with distinctive, contemporary design. It is a striking contrast of styles to find in what is such a traditionally Greek setting and it works wonderfully. Entering into the spacious, open plan living area, your eye is instantly caught by the pleasing, light coloured wooden furniture positioned atop a terracotta tiled floor with attractive mosaic borders. An impressive galleried mezzanine area looks over this airy space providing a choice of cool corners in which to relax with a good book. Each of the rooms is bright, very well furnished and instantly welcoming, not least the kitchen where keen cooks are sure to appreciate facilities that include limed-oak fronted units, long, marble worktops, a part ceramic/part gas hob and a huge eye-level oven that may well provide some inspiration for your own kitchen design back home. We know it did for us! Outside, the various open and shaded terraces that surround Limani, provide a choice of venues in which to enjoy a drink or a meal from the barbecue whilst keeping an eye on younger children as they play in the private swimming pool or on the large, adjacent lawn.
