Plakias is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque and sought after villages in Crete and Horio a hugely welcome addition to our portfolio. This bright, modern and well equipped house will appeal to anyone seeking the convenience of having lovely sandy beaches 'on their doorstep', while at the same time being within close proximity to all amenities. Located to the rear of this small fishing village, Horio is a more than comfortable holiday base, airy, spacious and a perfect location in which to experience the day-to-day life of a long-established, harbour side community. Shops, restaurants and the broad, sweeping seafront are all within walking distance. Decorated in contemporary style, facilities include a light, fitted kitchen, plump sofas, solid wood furnishings and air conditioning. Various roomy balconies and terraces lead out from all floors of the house including a large covered terrace that separates the pool area from the downstairs open plan living room and where many an hour is sure to be spent relaxing in the shade or supervising the younger party members as they have fun in the pool or on the large, adjacent lawn. Outdoor living in the benign Cretan climate is sure to be a priority hence the private swimming pool enjoys a particularly sunny, open aspect and the thoughtful owner has taken care to furnish the house terraces with exotic pot plants, quality seating, dining (and sun lounging!) facilities. With lovely sandy beaches and excellent amenities so close to hand you may not wish to stray far from sleepy Plakias, but for those who like to get out and about, there is the island's rich history, wealth of dramatic scenery and many wonderful walking trails to discover. Perhaps the jewel in the crown of all Cretan walks can be found at the gorges located to the foot of the Lefka Ori mountains west of Frangokastelo and about a forty five minute drive away.
