A charming, light and very well presented house, Panorama sits within pretty grounds in the rolling countryside just a couple of kilometres outside the villages of Tsesmes and Platanes where all amenities including several tavernas can be found. This is an enviable situation. Not only are local villages in close proximity but also the long sandy beach of Platanias, recipient of a coveted blue flag and home to many excellent waterfront tavernas is only 3km away. Add to this the gorgeous sweeping views that can be enjoyed from the spacious terraces, balconies and gardens across vineyards and orchards to the Cretan Sea and you have the ideal base from which to explore this diverse and delightful island. Many a lazy day will undoubtedly be spent relaxing in the sunny, lawned garden where the property owners have thoughtfully placed a substantial inbuilt barbecue next to the beautiful private pool. Non-swimmers and families with younger children will certainly appreciate the dedicated shallow section of the main pool that has been specifically fenced off for their use on one side. With impressive views across to the aquamarine waters that lap the Rethymnon coastline, lingering al fresco meals in this appealing location are destined to become a regular occurrence. Around a fifteen minute stroll downhill will bring you to the traditional villages of Tsesmes and Platanes, perfect for everyday essentials and for enjoying the range of fresh local dishes that feature on the taverna menus. Further amenities can be found in the historic village of Maroulas (2km) as well as Adele (4km) and it is only about a ten minute drive to the port of Rethymnon, a town justly celebrated for the impressive Venetian fortress which dominates the headland overlooking the harbour as well as for its atmospheric old quarter where one can easily stroll for hours amongst the narrow shopping streets perhaps pausing as the fancy takes you for a frappe in one of the numerous café-bars.
