Rena villa's position is stunning. Set on a hillside overlooking the sea, the villa boasts fantastic sweeping views over unspoilt countryside filled with olive groves down to the sparkling azure sea. The villa offers particularly spacious accommodation with a total of 4 bedrooms arranged over two floors and two lovely terraces, one on the ground floor at the front of the house and the other on the first floor leading off one of the bedrooms. The traditional feel of the house strikes you immediately upon seing the thick, stone-walled exterior as you approach along the rough track leading to the house and is echoed in the interiors which have been furnished with family heirlooms and antiques.

The bedrooms have lovely old iron bedsteads with decorative metal work, modern floors and shutters. The very special living area boasts an open fireplace and to one side is a large well equipped kitchen area with a full oven and fridge. Access to the ground floor double bedroom and shower room is also off the lounge and a solid wooden staircase leads to the first floor bedrooms and a bathroom. All the bedrooms on the first floor have attractive sloping beamed ceilings, and from the single bedroom there is access to a large terrace at the front of the house, which is a perfect spot to sit in the quiet of the late evening and watch for shooting stars. Outside there is the pool area with the BBQ and the garden with a tamarisk tree.

The house offers a perfect combination of the peace and tranquility of Vagia, with the shops and night life of Makrigialos just a short drive away. Makrigialos is located 120 kms from Heraklion airport to the southeast of the island, and as the southernmost Cretan village has one of the longest summer seasons. On picturesque peaceful beaches all light in colour you can enjoy the clear sea and allow yourself to sink into a state of total tranquility. Makrigialos the village has a widerange of tavernas, shops, mini markets and bars. Swimming, fishing, water sports and walking are just some of the activities you can try during your holiday.

You can also discover more than 80 arcaeological places in the nearby countryside such as, The Minoan Palace at Kato Zakros, the ruins of the medieval village of Voila, the Venetian Mansion of Etia, the Valley of the dead, the Island of Lefki (Koufonissi), Chrissi Island (the Golden island) near Ierapetra, the Toplou Byzantine Monastery, the monastery of Kapsa and the palm grove of Vai near Sitia. You can also visit many of the island villages.
