Ana boasts a quite marvellous situation. Not only does the property offer eye catching views of the pine clad coastline but you also have easy access to both the idyllic harbour village of San Stefanos (850m) and one of the island's best beaches, Kerasia (650m), holder of a coveted Blue Flag for cleanliness, water quality and environmental awareness. Each of these emblematic locations is just a 15 minute walk downhill. Ana is decorated in the traditional, welcoming style so typical of the island. Pictures of rural scenes adorn the walls and colourful local fabrics set off the bedrooms and living room. Double doors lead from the living room and one of the downstairs bedrooms onto a covered terrace while the two first floor bedrooms also share a covered balcony, all of which are conveniently positioned to absorb the marvellous view that stretches across the hillsides and out over the Ionian Sea. The extensive estate of international financier, Lord Rothschild is immediately to the right, colourful Corfu Town can be seen in the distance and, gazing back at Ana across the Ionian channel, the sleepy shores of Albania can often be discerned through the heat haze. Pleasant though the inside is, it is the grounds and pool area that will surely be the focus of your time here. Stocked with established flowering plants, mature shrubbery and tall shady trees it is a pleasure to spend time outside in the sunshine. The in-built barbecue and adjacent dining terrace are conveniently located just outside the kitchen door. With Kerasia Beach so close you may feel no need to go elsewhere however, less than 100m from the house is a steep, unmade country track leading downhill through the pine trees to the little pebble beach visible from the house terraces (it is just above the right hand side of the balcony railing in our accompanying photograph). Not the easiest of access but perhaps an interesting option for more active family members seeking a little exercise or maybe an invigorat
