This excellent family house is within walking distance of two informal local tavernas, the beautiful nature reserve of Lake Korision and the long sandy dune-backed beach of Halikouna. A carefully chosen combination of tasteful décor and furnishings in the open plan living accommodation creates a most relaxing atmosphere. Focal point is the newly constructed fireplace to one end with its range of comfortable seating around the large wooden coffee table. Curving panoramic windows look out from here over the terrace towards the pool giving the room a very light, airy feel. The newly fitted kitchen is well equipped and of modern design, blending in seamlessly with the beautifully furnished dining area. Completing the downstairs accommodation are two spacious bedrooms both with large doors opening out onto a sunny terrace overlooking the large private gardens. Another eye-catching feature for this season is the wonderful wide wooden staircase leading upstairs to an additional sitting room, along with a third bedroom and a shower room. This really is an ideal house for large families, especially those with teenage children who will relish the generous lounging opportunities on offer both inside and out. Outside, the ‘Omega’ shaped private pool is larger than average and the adjacent covered barbecue house to one side will certainly be the centre of culinary activity. This unspoilt corner of south west Corfu is charming and appealing. Just half a kilometre away Lake Korision is revered for the variety of orchids and wild flowers that can be seen there in early summer. It is also home to many breeds of rare bird and is a well-known resting point for hundreds of migrating species. Halikouna Beach, 800m away, is a natural, unspoilt stretch of golden sand, popular with windsurfers whilst the nearby beaches of Issos and Prassoudi both proudly fly Blue Flags in recognition of their high standards.
