Adonis enjoys a truly delightful location. Nestled in a colourful Mediterranean garden the house is within walking distance of the lovely sandy beaches of Alonaki (700m) and Prasoudi (1.2km), the latter also home to two respected waterfront tavernas and just one of several beaches found along this privileged coastline to have been awarded the coveted Blue Flag for cleanliness. Careful consideration has been given to the design of this charming house. The living accommodation is welcoming and comfortably furnished with each bedroom boasting its own sliding doors that lead onto a spacious terrace overlooking the private garden, larger than average swimming pool and the adjacent covered barbecue area that is sure to become the focal point of holiday meal times. On one side, gated steps lead up to Adonis’ shaded roof terrace, a lovely spot in which to relax with a book and enjoy sweeping rural and mountain views. This unspoilt south west corner of Corfu is one of the most charming and appealing parts of the island. Just two kilometres south from Adonis, the countryside around Lake Korision is revered for the variety of orchids and wild flowers that grow there in abundance over the early summer months. The lake is also home to many breeds of rare bird and is a well known resting point for hundreds of migrating species. For lovers of ancient ruins, the Byzantine castle of Gardiki can also be found less than 2km from the house, making this property a marvellous choice for ramblers and nature lovers alike. Prasoudi Beach is a natural, unspoilt stretch of golden sand and a ‘secret’ long kept to themselves by the Corfiots who also consider the two beachside tavernas as being amongst the best on the island. As you would expect, the quality of the fresh fish served here is consistently high.
