In the heart of the Luberon National park, La Bergerie des chanes is situated midway between the well-known Luberon villages of Menerbes and Lacoste, surrounded by old oak trees, which give its name. From the pool and terrace at the rear of the property there are far reaching views of the Luberon and Mont Ventoux. This is the perfect villa if you are looking to get away from it all amongst a wonderful natural landscape, but want to be near enough to local restaurants and shops in the nearby villages of the Luberon.
The house has been fully restored and combines a number of traditional features with contemporary amenities. Wooden beamed ceilings contrast with thick stone walls, which keep the house cool in summer and tiled and stone floors. The entrance is at the front of the house with steps down to a small terrace area, with a shaded dining area to one side and trough an attractive arched glass entrance into the kitchen. This is equipped with an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and a breakfast table seating six. The cosy living room has a traditional open fireplace a number of comfortable seats and doors that open on to the gardens. There is a television and DVD player.
