Le Château d’Aubenas is 16th century history meets unpretentious minimalist chic! This truly amazing house, once the summer retreat of Charles de Voland (the son of Charles II from his second marriage) has been restored internally to the highest standard whilst the exterior and garden maintain their historic grandeur. Aubenas-Les-Alpes is a tiny hamlet set in the Luberon countryside just 15 minutes from the pretty town of Forcalquier. Le Château perches high at the top of this tiny cluster of houses and enjoys completely private, gated grounds, including an olive grove, surrounded by forest. Next to the house the private swimming pool has a large sun terrace and you will always find a quiet, shady corner in which to relax and enjoy a quiet glass of local wine. Inside, the house can sleep up to 12 (although a maximum of 8 adults) in 5 well appointed bedrooms. Space is abundant with long hallways, huge rooms and high ceilings, but it has been cleverly thought out with many interconnecting doors and rooms, so that the space is useful and cosy and not overwhelming, furnished in a minimalist style. In addition to this every modern convenience has been thought of including satellite TV and DVD Player.
