Le Bastidon must surely be one of the most charming properties we have seen. The pretty pale rose painted house, adorned with Provencal blue shutters and a vine draped terrace, is set in a garden of beautifully maintained lawn, complete with its own olive grove and swimming pool. Enclosed by tall hedges and with a gated entrance, it offers a high degree of privacy yet is only a short stroll away (700m) from the main square of Caromb, a delightful village in the heart of the Vaucluse countryside. We are sure you will agree it is an irresistible combination. The interior of Le Bastidon is equally as appealing. Throughout, chequered terracotta stone floors and pale walls act as a stylish backdrop to painted wood furniture, pretty fabrics and bedlinen. On the ground floor, patio doors allow light to flood into the dining room. From here, four steps lead up to the living area, attractively furnished and decorated in hues of soft raspberry. Upstairs, all three bedrooms are light and airy, and boast views across the pool and garden. Outside, the same care and attention to detail is immediately apparent. The terrace, partially covered by an age-old vine, is the perfect spot for al fresco dining, whilst in the garden two stone tables have been placed under shady trees as alternative eating areas. Purposely designed to blend seamlessly with its environment, the pool has a stone surround echoing the distinctive style of the 'bassins' found in the local villages and interior colouring that perfectly harmonises with the silvery green olive trees that line the bottom of the garden. With the village offering a choice of three restaurants and a number of small shops including a boulangerie and mini-market, there is little need to travel very far from Le Bastidon.
