Le Saffranier dates back to the 18th century and has been lovingly and painstakingly restored to provide accommodation of a very high standard. Located in the valley directly below the lovely citadel town of Bonnieux, the property was once a cherry farm and the many trees in the grounds are still cultivated by the owner.
The decor of the farmhouse is in keeping with the traditional style of Provence, with crépi walls, flagstone floors and bright soft furnishings.
The house is built around two large stone vaults which are cool in the long hot summers but retain the heat during the winter months. In one of the vaults is the very well- equipped kitchen with a central work island, a stove of restaurant quality and electric oven, an American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle.
There is an adjacent dining area with seating for 12 and large stone fireplace.
An archway leads to the second vault and the stylish main salon. Patio doors open from both the dining area and the sitting room to covered terraces.
On the ground floor is a twin bedroom with shower room en suite and small living room with kitchenette. This suite would be suitable for a nanny. Stairs lead up to a further two twin bedrooms. At this level there is an additional living room opening to a terrace. The large Master double bedroom has a fireplace with sitting area, bathroom en suite with walk-in shower, dressing room and doors to the terrace. There is a second double bedroom with shower room en suite. Wooden stairs lead up from the first floor living room to a mezzanine level with satellite television, DVD player and VCR.
There are extensive terraces on two sides of the property for al fresco living. To the rear of the property are fantastic views of the Luberon valley. There is an infinity edge swimming pool is surrounded by ample sun loungers.
Please note that the owners of Le Saffranier do not accept children under the age of 16.
