La Gardiole is a wonderful 18th century farmhouse which has been lovingly restored to a very high standard. It is light and spacious with vaulted ceilings and tiled floors. The owners have created a modern space whilst retaining the charm of the original house, characteristically built so that the church steeple in Bonnieux could be seen from every room. Now, large arched windows also give far reaching views across the Luberon to Mont Ventoux.
Bonnieux is on the western side of the Luberon National Park, a wonderful region for touring, hiking and cycling with many beautiful hilltop villages to visit en route. There are shops, restaurants, a small museum and a Friday market near this Bonnieux luxury villa, although the biggest and best market in the region is in nearby Apt each Saturday. The Papal town of Avignon is just 25 miles away.
Enjoy a bottle of wine on the terrace in the evening and as the sun sets the floodlit castle at Lacoste comes into view. Once the property of the Marquis de Sade and now being refurbished by Pierre Cardin it is a beautiful sight at night time to be enjoyed from this Bonnieux luxury villa.
