Half a mile from the village of Asnieres la Giraud for everyday shopping, the picturesque town of Saint Jean d’Angely is four miles away for extensive shopping, supermarket, restaurants and weekly market. La Rochelle and Rochefort are under an hour away. There is a golf course in Fontcouverte, near Saintes. Under an hour to the beaches at Fouras, Ile d’Oleron and Royan.
