The total length of Ile de Ré is 30km. The village of Le Bois Plage, in which this property is located, is 5km long on the southern side of the Island, with no less than 4km of sandy beaches. The beaches are of extremely good quality and there is a nice wooded area for pleasant walks in the shade. There are two watersports schools on the beach which offer different activities, including windsurfing, catamarans, kayaks, surf or body board. The coast is only 500 metres from the house, or about 5 minutes walk.

The other attraction of the village is the daily market with about 150 stands selling all sorts of local produce; this is only 100 metres from the house. There are also 6 restaurants nearby, some within easy walking distance from the house, plus 2 boulangeries, and 3 places to rent bikes very close by.

This is an old typical Rétaise house from the beginning of the 19th Century. It has been fully redecorated and restored in 2007. You enter the house directly into the corridor off which is the kitchen on your left with oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. On your right, a second door opens to the main living room with a dining area with table and 8 chairs and a sitting area with sofa and coffee table. At the far end is another sitting area with armchairs in front of a small fireplace and half glazed walls overlooking the garden. From there, you access a double bedroom with small en-suite shower room and direct access to garden. From the centre of the living room, a door leads to a TV room with more comfortable seating, TV, DVD and access to the garden. This room has a second door which comes back to the corridor off which is a separate WC.

Upstairs are three bedrooms: two double bedrooms, and a children’s bedroom for up to 4 kids with bunk beds plus bed with extra pull out bed. There is also a shower room/WC and a bathroom.

Outside, the garden is 300m2, well secluded, private and nicely maintained with lawn and flowers. The house has a private garage for a small car and there is a public car park some 200 metres from the house.
