Located at the start of the Pyrenees, the Piémont Oloronais is ideally situated to visit the Pays Basque and the Pyrenees. The valleys of Barétous, Aspe and Ossau, as well as the towns of Pau (town of Henri IV), Lourdes and Spain are all within 1 hour’s drive. The area has fabulous landscape and atmosphere; floating across the valleys is the sound of gushing mountain rivers as they speed recklessly down their spectacular courses between picturesque villages.

Oloron, 12km from the house, organises many festivals and fêtes during the summer: do not miss the jazz festival with its street shows, impromptu bars, afternoon and late night concerts; the local fête in July; or the Pelote Basque week in August. You can choose to visit one of the local Châteaux, Lindt chocolate factory, beaches along the river, local craft industry, sculpture, or Jurançon vineyards in the nearby villages.

The house itself is on the edge of Lasseube which has in its centre (2km away) a boulangerie, a restaurant and some shops; Oloron (12km) has a good selection of cafés, shops and restaurants. The house is in a high position and has tremendous views towards the Pyrenees, which you can see from the terrace as well as from other rooms of the house. You enter via the large wooden front door into a spacious hall. One door leads to the fully equipped kitchen with normal cooker, microwave and dishwasher; this opens into the dining room with great views and table and chairs. This is linked to the sitting room which has TV and CD player and a magnificent fireplace. From the hall, the corridor leads you to a utility room with washing machine and dryer, a separate WC, and a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

Upstairs are a bathroom, a shower room, a separate WC and four bedrooms: two doubles, a single and a twin.

Outside, the garden is slightly sloping. The swimming pool is 10m x 5m with steps and nice terrace with fantastic views over the surrounding countryside.

In high season (21.07 - 30.08) the property is available for minimum 2 weeks.
