A charming 200 year old farmhouse surrounded by meadows, Le Frêne is to be found between the pretty village of Parisot (8km) and the stunning bastide town of Najac (15km). Locals believe Le Frêne was once the principal house in the area and indeed the impressive size of the property and grounds would uphold this view. The main house sits in a courtyard around which a number of barns form a walled enclosure. The ambience of a French farmhouse is still very much evident although modern amenities and comforts have, of course, been provided. Huge fireplaces, stone eviers and original wood flooring can be seen in the living areas whilst the bedrooms have oak floors, pale walls and en suite facilities. The bedrooms have been divided into two areas, each with two bedrooms and accessed by separate staircases, a layout particularly appealing for two families. There is a walled garden area to the rear of the house with the larger than average pool to be found in the open grounds to one side, a tranquil setting in which to relax and swim. Essential amenities can be found in Parisot with Caylus having a wider choice including a number of restaurants. Due south, picturesque St Antonin Noble Val sits on the banks of the River Aveyron. Its riverside setting means that watersports enthusiasts can enjoy canoeing, whilst a wander through its narrow streets reveals the medieval facades of historic buildings, many now in use as museums, restaurants or shops.
