Manoir du Lac sits on the banks of its own private lake surrounded by well tended gardens and mature trees. Enjoy afternoon tea in the lakeside gazebo, or an evening meal watching the sun set over the water. The house has a charm reminiscent of a bygone era, with original tiled and wooden floors, panelled walls and ceilings, and marble fireplaces.

This is an ideal base from which to visit the famous Châteaux of the Loire Valley. Among the most renowned are those at Amboise, Blois and Chenonceaux - a visit to the Loire region would be incomplete without seeing these splendid properties.

The nearby town of Château-Renault was founded on the leather industry. There is a tannery museum, and the local château, built in 1150 by the Comte de Blois Thibaut V, is now occupied by the Mairie, but still offers the best views over the town.

Grounds: 200 acres with forest, a river, and a private man made lake surrounded by well manicured lawns and mature trees. Uncovered fountain and pond. Heated pool, poolhouse with changing and kitchen area. Stables with 2 horses. The caretaker lives in a private cottage at the entrance to the grounds. He can provide fresh eggs from the hens and vegetables from the vegetable garden on request. He has a guard dog. Due to the many water features at this property it is not recommended for young children.

Maid service: 3 hours eachday - Monday to Friday.
