On the outskirts of the village of Preixan where you’ll find a bakery, bar and restaurant serving good value traditional dishes from the local area all about 900 yards from the villa. The medieval walled city of Carcassonne is about five miles away and here you find a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants. The Canal du Midi passes close to Carcassonne and here you can hire boats, walk or bicycle for miles along the tow paths. There are also miles of lovely walks starting close to the villa, through vineyards, into the hills and along the valley of the Aude to the neighbouring villages. Lots of vineyards to visit in the region and Mediterranean beaches are around an hour’s drive from Preixan.

Set in enclosed gardens, the apartment has its own private terrace with sun awning, garden furniture and barbecue. Steps from here to the terrace above with swimming pool (9x4m) shared with the charming owner who respects the privacy of guests when using the pool. Wonderful views towards the village and surrounding countryside from the pool area with a few trees providing shade.
