The house is situated in a little hamlet about 4km from the village of St Avit Sénieur. The village overlooks the Couze valley and boasts a huge church, which is the remains of an abbey founded in 1097 by the Benedictines and fortified in the 14th Century. It also has a café. Only a few kilometres away there is a good selection of shops, and a weekly market at Beaumont de Perigord, which is a picturesque Bastide town. The countryside around is gorgeous and is rich in history and prehistory. The Dordogne river, where you can picnic, swim, fish and canoe, is about 10km away.

The house is completely restored. It is built out of the soft golden stone which gives such an agreeable character to the local architecture. On the ground floor is a kitchen/dining room, on one side of which is a fitted kitchen with a ceramic hob set in a terracotta tiled work top, a microwave, and a dishwasher. There is also a shower room plus separate WC.
The floor is tiled in terracotta and the walls are painted white which makes for a light room. There is a dining table and 2 sets of French windows which open onto the front and rear of the house. Stairs descend to the utility room, where there is a washing machine, and rise to the sitting room which is open to the staircase. Here there are 2 leather armchairs and a leather sofa as well as a sofa bed and TV. The staircase continues up to the next level where there is a landing off which there are two twin bedrooms and a separate bathroom. The staircase continues on up to the mezzanine where there a 2 more single beds. This room is really only suitable for children since the low beams give clearance of only 1.63m. The house is equipped with electric radiators and a telephone. Outside is a 8m x 4m swimming pool and lots of rough mown grassy space.
