This house is situated in a remarkable position on a promontory of high ground on the edge of Sarlat, of which it has wonderful views. Despite its proximity to the town it is quiet and because the ground falls away steeply at the end of the garden there are no buildings obstructing its view, and the garden is entirely secluded.
Sarlat is renowned for its collection of medieval and renaissance buildings so much so that it is often used as the setting for filming of historical dramas. Besides having a good selection of shops and restaurants, discotheques and a cinema, the town organises a theatre and music festival in the summer and a festival of the audio-visual arts in the late autumn. The owners, live in the town below, are kind and wish to help you enjoy your stay.
A path leads down from the house to the centre of Sarlat which is roughly 3 minutes walk away.
The house is built of traditional local stone and has electric heating.
There is a small entrance hall, off which there is a WC. The hall leads directly into the open-plan living room, which is furnished with two sofas in front of a fireplace. At one end is a well-fitted kitchen equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. Also on the ground floor, off the living room, is a double bedroom with double bed, fitted cupboards and an en-suite bathroom/WC. The staircase leads up from the living room to a landing off which is a shower room, a separate WC and three more bedrooms, two with a double bed and one which has 4 single child beds. The house has a telephone, and a cot.
Outside is a good sized garden with peach and plum trees and a swimming pool measuring 10m x 5m.
