This pretty stone farmhouse is situated 15 minutes from Bergerac airport, at the top of the valley 2km from the hamlet of Plaisance and 5km from the beautiful medieval town of Issigeac. Its winding streets and the overhanging upper stories of its medieval buildings give the impression that little has changed since its founding in 1298.
There is a weekly Sunday market at Issigeac and plenty more besides in the area; the bastide towns of Castillonnes, Villeréal, Montflanquin and Beaumont. Or the magnificent castles of Biron, Duras and Monbazillac – where you can taste wine. There are also golf courses within easy reach at Castelnaud and Château de Vigier.

The house is built of soft warm grey stone, typical of this part of the Dordogne.
Entering through the front door, into the entrance hall, a door opens to the kitchen that is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher plus microwave (as well as an ordinary oven). From the hall, turn left and enter the living/dining room which has a very nice feeling with its exposed beams and floor of terracotta. In front of a splendid arched stone fireplace is a sofa and 4 armchairs, and a dining table to seat 7. French windows open to the garden and swimming pool. On the other side of the living room a door opens to a bedroom with 2 single beds. At the other end of the entrance hall are two further bedrooms; one has 2 singles through which you need to go to enter the other which has a double bed – both have French windows to the garden. The bathroom/WC is reached from the main entrance hall.
The house has wall-mounted electric convector heaters and a telephone. Outside there is masses of space given over to rough mown grass, a terrace with attractive views of the valley below and a 11m x 5m swimming pool which has Roman steps.
