Conveniently situated two and a half miles from the medieval town of Sarlat, with it’s weekly market, shops and restaurants, and close to the picturesque villages of Beynac and La Roque Gageac on the banks of the Dordogne. Tennis in Vezac and canoeing from various bases on the river.
Set on a wooded hillside in spacious grounds, the house has secluded courtyard garden with lawn, barbecue and garden furniture, with steps leading down to the large swimming pool (12x6m) below. Although there are no parasols provided, there are plenty of shady areas
Consisting of two separate wings which, although interconnecting, can be closed off from each other if required for smaller parties, the house has a ‘medieval’ feel with its exposed stone walls, large rooms and antique furniture, combined however, with modern comforts. The main wing has an impressive ‘baronial’ sitting room, complete with billiard table, divided by a chimney breast with open fireplace, from the dining room. This leads to the kitchen, also with dining area, well equipped with mixed gas/electric hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are three bedroms, a double with king sized bed and cot, a small twin and a double with extra single bed, a bathroom with double washbasin and a separate wc. The smaller wing has a very large sitting/dining room with big open fireplace, sofa, dining table and chairs, TV, hall/kitchen (no cutlery, crockery or pans) with gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine and upstairs, under the eaves, two bedrooms, a double and a twin, a bathroom and separate wc. Bed linen available at extra cost payable locally.
