Enjoying an attractive rural setting on a slight slope in the valley of the River Dronne surrounded by open fields and woodland near the village of Champagnac, just north east of Brantôme, Le Désir is a pretty, stone built house. This spacious property would surely make an ideal setting for a couple of families or a large party travelling together. With a cosy living area, a generous dining room with a table to seat ten and a further outdoor dining terrace, there is plenty of room to spread out, unwind and appreciate some of the endearing qualities of the accommodation which include exposed stone walls, beamed lofty ceilings and conker-red tiled floors. In addition, both parents and young children will appreciate the spacious playroom filled with toys and games. Outside, the al fresco dining area is at the rear of the house where lawns lead to open fields with woods beyond. The gated pool with its tiled surround is attended by its own changing room and a covered barbecue area, and enjoys open country views. A restaurant and bakery are found in the nearby village of Champagnac, about 3km away but for a full range of amenities and places of interest, head for Brantôme (7km). Almost enclosed by the River Dronne, Brantôme is known as the 'Venice of the Dordogne' and is dominated by its massive medieval abbey, now the town hall. The imposing medieval chateau at Puyguilhem is also a compelling attraction with its ornate stone chimneys and decorative arrow slits through which you can appreciate its peaceful, woodland setting.
