As you approach Villa Florence through electric gates and up the private drive, lined with lavender, you know that you have arrived somewhere rather special, at a house befitting its excellent location. Surrounded by three thousand square metres of terraced garden, the white façade of the house contrasts beautifully with is verdant surrounds. On entry the exclusive ambience continues with the double height plate glass entrance hall, sweeping staircase and gallery boasting extensive views toward the bay of Antibes. Other internal features include Master bedrooms with Philip Stark style bathrooms en suite, and a ‘double’ reception room with two large French doors leading onto the terrace over looking the swimming pool. The village of Vallaruis, set in a wonderful amphitheatre of hills is known throughout the world for its ceramics, with potters having been there from Roman times. Picasso went there in the fifties to try his hand at the art and produced more than two thousand pieces in his time there and many can be seen in the village’s main museum. During this time, Picasso lived in Golfe Juan, about 2km away. The seaside town is home to excellent and relatively un-crowded private beaches with views to Cap d’Antibes. There are a number of fine restaurants in Golfe Juan, with Nounou and Tetou two of the most well known in France.
