This stone villa holds a special place in our programme, not only for its peaceful location in the Istrian countryside but also for its high standard and beautiful style. The house is newly built in a traditional style and was decorated by a Croatian artist educated in the UK. Although the property has been deliberately designed to echo traditional styles, it has a high quality finish and is extremely well equipped. The village of Veli Golji is away from the tourist bustle, but is only a 10-15 minutes drive away from Rabac, a lively seaside resort with a multitude of pebble beaches and excellent restaurants.
A variety of summer sea activities are available in Rabac, such as sailing, diving, fishing, rent a boat and tennis; also the whole area is great for walking and hiking. A well known restaurant called ‘Pineta’ is only 3km from the property and serves good Istrian traditional dishes. Labin, which is 5 minutes drive away has a fish and vegetable market, shops, restaurants and pizzerias. The old centre with its narrow cobbled streets becomes a centre of art happenings in the summer under the name of Labin Art Republic. The famous Istrian towns of Pula, Rovinj or Motovun are all easy driving distance being between 30 minutes to about one hour drive.
This property lies on spacious 2500sq metre grounds and consists of two newly constructed stone buildings.
The front door opens into a hall off which is an open-plan living area air-conditioning plus kitchen/dining area. The living area has comfortable seating; the tastefully decorated kitchen with dining table and chairs is fully sitted with cooker, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. To the left of the hall is a double bedroom with a satellite TV and en-suite shower room/WC; next to the staircase is a utility room with a toilet and washing machine. On the upper floor are two twin bedrooms with nice views of the garden; each has a satellite TV and their own en-suite shower room/WC. In front of the main building is a covered terrace with wooden garden furniture and a built-in stone barbecue which overlooks the garden and the 10m x 5m swimming pool with Roman steps.
In the garden, on the other side of the pool is a small cottage, fully equipped and self contained. It consists of an open-plan living room and kitchen, with fridge and cooker, one double bedroom with a satellite TV, and a shower room/WC. There is parking for several cars within the grounds of the property.
Special reduced prices for groups of 4 or less on all dates except July and August; in this case the small cottage is locked.
Getting there: Saturday arrival at Pula. Drive time is 40 minutes.
